ACCELERATED TRAINING FOR START-UPS (OCT. 21-22, 2015)
A total of Sixty (60) top applicants of the Young Innovators in Agribusiness Competition drawn from East Africa region attended two-day startup training at Toyota Kenya Academy in Nairobi on the 21st and 22nd of October 2015. The competitors, aged between 18-35 years, from the Startups category run enterprises that address needs arising from various agricultural value chains in their respective countries. The needs include production, value addition, innovation and knowledge transfer. Participants received accelerated training which comprised of individual work assignment, classroom sessions conducted by course facilitators, group work and a Thought Leadership forum. The purpose of the competition was: to equip trainees with valuable skills in order to improve the visibility of their businesses and introduce their investment in agribusiness: sharpen their presentation skills in preparation for the actual competition as well as pitch their propositions to investors.
